COVID-19

Your health, safety and well-being is a priority for us. And so is the health, safety and well-being of our workers.

To address the COVID-19 health crisis, Hawaii Governor David Ige has mandated a 14-day quarantine for all passengers (visitors and returning residents) arriving into the state of Hawaii on or before October 14. People who are required to self-quarantine for 14 days must designate a hotel or motel as their designated quarantine location. Kane Plantation Guesthouse is not permitted to have guests subject to quarantine.

Governor Ige confirmed on September 16, the start date of the pre-travel testing program for USA mainland travelers will be October 15. Travelers are exempt from the mandatory 14-day quarantine if COVID-19 testing is completed no more than 72 hours in advance of arrival with proof of a negative result. Those travelers planning to enter Hawaii under this program may book online for visits from October 15.

In accordance with our cancellation policy, detailed below, guests with existing reservations in October and beyond may cancel with a full refund of the deposit with a minimum 14-days’ notice. For cancellations or changes to your departure date less than 14 days ahead of your arrival date, your credit card will be charged in full for the entire reservation.

We hope not, but if any orders are extended beyond October 15 by Federal, State or County authorities, or if any of our workers become ill, for your safety and ours, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation with full refund of any deposit paid. We will not be liable for any other claim for loss or damages resulting from the cancellation.


Kane Plantation Guesthouse is designed for the enjoyment of our adult guests and as such is not suitable for infants or children under the age of fourteen. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a family member. While we love our furry friends, we regret that pets cannot be accommodated at the Guesthouse.

A deposit for the first night’s accommodation, plus taxes, is required to secure your reservation, and will be charged to the Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card provided. We regret that we do not accept American Express nor JCB cards. Your reservation is not confirmed until your deposit has been successfully processed. A confirmation email will be sent to you by our reservation system. The balance of your account is due at check-out and may be paid with credit card or cash.

Each of our luxury suites is designed to accommodate up to two guests only.

Cancellations

We understand that sometimes your travel plans can unexpectedly change. Because Kane Plantation Guesthouse is a small luxury Bed and Breakfast, cancellations or changes to your reservation affect us greatly. We strongly urge all guests to purchase travel insurance to protect against the financial penalties for cancellation.


When you make your reservation, you agree to the following:

  • If your travel plans change after your reservation is confirmed, notice of cancellation is required at least 14 days prior to your booked arrival date. With a minimum 14-days’ notice of cancellation, we will refund your deposit.

  • For cancellations or changes to your departure date less than 14 days ahead of your arrival date, your credit card will be charged in full for the entire reservation. We will make every effort to rebook your suite(s) and refund you for any nights successfully rebooked by another guest.

  • Refunds are not given for late arrivals, early departures, or no-shows.

  • If the Hawaii Governor's 14-day quarantine order is extended beyond 31 August 2020, or if any of our workers become ill, for your safety and ours, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation with full refund of any deposit paid. We are not liable for any other claim for loss or damages resulting from the cancellation.


  • Kane Plantation Guesthouse cannot accept responsibility for cancellations due to bad weather, changes to your travel plans, flight changes, personal sickness or injury, family emergencies, recall to work, etc.

    Cancellations must be made by telephone, but also require a confirmation email.

    Check-In and Check-Out

    Check-in time is from 4pm to 6pm. We might be able to accommodate a later check-in if you contact us to arrange it before your visit. For us provide the very best welcome to you, it is helpful for us to know the approximate time of your arrival, especially if you are arriving on an evening flight. Please let us know your estimated arrival time and provide a contact telephone number. If your proposed arrival time changes after you make your reservation, or if you are delayed, please let us know by calling +1 808 328 2416 or +1 808 765 4351. If you would like to check-in earlier than 4pm, please let us know in advance, and we will try to accommodate your needs.

    Check-out time is 11am.

    Breakfast

    We serve breakfast at 8.30 each morning in the dining room. If you have not already done so, please advise any special dietary requirements. While we will try to accommodate special diets, we regret that this may not always be possible.

    Smoking

    For the health, comfort, and safety of our guests and staff, Kāne Plantation Guesthouse is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted within the suites, on the lanais, or within 30 feet of covered spaces. Guests are welcome to enjoy tobacco products in the gardens. A minimum USD250 cleaning fee will be charged for smoking inside the suites or common areas.
